DVLA - form is confusing me!

Sadly have been given an MS diagnosis and now getting some fun paperwork out the way…!

Couple of questions:

  1. ‘Date of relapse’ - do you just put the date that your relapse started here? Also unsure if I’ve technically had a ‘relapse’ since I’ve only had one episode so far…saw that discussion on another thread (DVLA form question.) but any other thoughts welcome.
  2. Updating the DVLA re: new relapses - Is there a process for updating the DVLA that you’ve had relapses, or do you only mention when renewing your license every 3 years?
  3. Medication - I’ll be going on a DMT soon but think I’ll have an appointment with the MS nurse to discuss choices and then might be longer to actually start with meds. Can I submit the form to say ‘no medication’ for now, and update the DVLA later once a DMT is chosen? Hopefully unlikely odds that I’ll have any road accidents before the date of taking medication, but would love to at least be able to say I’ve submitted the form in case!

Tried to call up the DVLA helpline but told it was ‘too busy’ for phone calls twice today. Will try again this week and post any answers here for anyone in the future.

Point one, I think I put the diagnosis date with the word diagnosis.

Point 2 not sure but unless it’s something that would affect your driving i.e eyes, legs or hands I would imagine at the 3 year point.

Point 3 I put not on medication as under discussion, then the Neurologist filled in his side sent to him by DVLA when I had chosen my DMT.

It took 6 months from letting them know until new medical license, so expect a lengthy wait.
