Hi, just wondered if anyone has tried this, I’ve been offered it this morning by my MS nurse for nerve pain, I’ve had Gabapentine, but after 13yrs it stopped working for me, I’ve tried Pregabalin, I couldn’t tolerate that, so now this, my neuro did suggest it in January, taking a low dose to start 30mg, but I decided against it, but now the pain and spasms are getting so bad I feel I need something, so it would be nice to know if anyone else has taken it and what your thoughts are, thank you, x x
HiJean
I haven’t tried it but have heard the name before from the GP. I am still struggling on with gabapentin but can only manage a small dose atna time.
Have you tried baclofen for the spasms, that’s what I take, and although it doesn’t stop it, it takes the edge off.
Wishing you all the best.

Hi Pam, thanks for that, yes I take Baclofen, at the moment I take 45mg a day and it helps to a point, but if I take anymore that this it makes my fatigue worse, we can’t win can we. I’m going to give this some thought over the weekend and see if anyone replies that has, or still is taking it. Thanks again Pam, good luck to you,

Ah thanks for that M, good to know someone else takes it and it works,

Hi, I currently take Gabapentin and Duloxetine. I have been on them both for nearly 5 years. The Duloxetine was introduced as I was still getting considerable pain when I was just on Gabapentin. I take 30mg of Duloxetine 3 times a day. They both seem to be working for me. All you can do is try it and see if it works for you.
Thanks irons for that, I will really think about giving this ago, I’ll think over the weekend and ring GP on Monday. So glad it works for you, hope it does the same for me, take care, Jean x x
Hi GH it made me constipated and i felt more anxious on it, probably down to a drug i was taking for my other issue. so i came off it i am constipated enough lol.
i decided to go naked no drugs as everyone i try makes me feel rubbish.
cymbalta is used a lot in usa some good and bad reports of it, and it is well tolerated with most people from what i gather, so hope it works for you hun. xx
Thanks crazy chick, yes my nurse pointed that 1 side effect out to me and she did mention some others, but she figuered because nothing else was working and I’m not anything to give it ago, I’m still thinking, thaks again, x x
I tried it few year ago but the side effects for me were suicidal thoughts.Sometimes you have to try a few before you settle on the right one.
Thanks jaydee, ys I get that some side effects won’t be nice, when I tried pregabalin I had suicidal thoughts, my GP took me straight off it, I’m going to give this a try, anything too odd and I’m off it, thanks again, x x
