Let me know how you get on, I’m interested in doing something, not the best at diets, but if it helps it’s worth it. Julsiexx
Heya
My doctor told me that i needed to loose weight for loads of my symptoms to ease up. I did the Dukan diet, it is such an easy diet and you loose so quickly I was on it six months and managed to loose 4 stone. Sadly I put all of it back on because i love cake too much. when it says no meat everyone very quickly thinks Atkins diet but its not, it is very different.
i dont know if you have but there is the Dukan website, if you do the True Weight test it tells you how long you should be on the diet (if you stick to it properly), it says how much you should weigh and loads of info, its quite helpful like when you should move to the next phase in the diet. I know no one reads much anymore but if you really want to do it I would suggest you get the book, if you havent already, it suggests many meals and why it is a good diet.
If you would like I could try and find the recipe for chocolate. In the second phase you are allowed one ice cube sized piece a week, I kept it for my Sunday night Weigh-in, it kept me sain.
Even though you can give up any time you want for this to be truely effective and for you not to gain weight again afterwards like me you have to remember protein Thursdays. (for the rest of your life). Something to do with reminding the body it will be diet detoxed again if it stores carbs so it not to.
Sorry if this is alot of info, after six months on a diet you soon learn the cheats and fails. Hope this is helpful, if you want more info feel free to pm me.

The MS Society do an exercise dvd [free] it is by Sally Gunnell - no you won’t be hurdling -but she does show exercises for people who are ‘sitting’ as well as the walking wounded. lts really good - and would give you your 20min a day activity. Start with just 5mins at a time - then go back to it again.
Best of luck.
l am trying to follow the Barry Groves eating plan - his books are very interesting - and can be a great help for us with MS. High protein/low carb. Just google his name and see for your self.

Hi I did the Dukan Diet before Christmas and lost 9Ib in the first week and by Christmas over a stone. I found it very easy to follow and stuck to it by the letter during that first week which is why it worked so well. The important ingredient is the oat bran, which you must have every day in one way or another. I found it easier to make pancakes or porridge with it for breakfast. Friends who have done the diet but not incorporated the bran didn’t do so well. I did come off it for Christmas and have only recently started it again as had a bad January with the MS. The weight does go back on easily if you havent followed all the steps, but it works and to be honest I felt better on the diet than off. Good luck.
