Driving License Renewal

I’ve just moved house, and have tried to tell DVLA my new address. I thought this would be a simple process, but it isn’t. I tried to do it online, but DVLA sent me back a form to complete, because of my medical condition, which I did… I have now received a new form back from DVLA, similar to a form I filled in for them about 8 years’ ago, when I knew my MS was affecting my driving. In fact it’s not one form, it’s three forms. I have to complete them and send back the forms in 14 days. If I fill the forms in incorrectly I can be prosecuted and get 2 years imprisonment. I’ve had MS for 17 years now and have had, like many MSers, to accept everyday awkwardnesses and humiliations. I have never felt so discriminated against and humiliated as I did today when I received these forms. I don’t ever make false declarations on forms, but always warning me about this on these forms makes me feel guilty. I know I am guilty, guilty of being disabled, but I never thought that was an offence. Has anyone else had similar experiences with DVLA ?

Hi NickM, no I haven’t had this happen to me, yes I did have forms to fill in when I still had my licence, but back then didn’t find them too bad, I no longer have my licence, which I did, find upsetting, its hard enough for us having this condition without all of this to add to it, I’m sorry you having to go through this, chin up, just fill it in and get your licence and give them the 2 fingers.
