Hi guys! I’m new here. This could be a looong post but I Just want to see what experiences people have had. I don’t actually have a diagnosis but I do apparently have symptoms. I am a 34 year old woman and about 6/7 years ago I had very frequent pins and needles, mainly in my feet and arms and was tired a lot. Went to gp, had blood tests etc. Came back I had very low b12 levels, there seemed to be no reason for this either. I had the injections, once levels back to normal I didn’t need them anymore. Still had pins n needles but not as frequent, was told I had peripheral neuropathy and sometimes could take a long time to recover. So I got on with my life as usual, still get pins and needles even now. In November last year, I had painful eye movements in my left eye, with some vision loss in the top right corner (if that makes sense) and also some colour dullness. Went to opticians and was urgently referred. Since then the pain has stopped but I still have the vision loss. Only saw the eye dr last week, after an 8 month urgent referral (stupid covid), she said my actual eyeball is fine but she said I have ON and am booked in for a scan of my optic nerve next month but to also be prepared for an mri after that. She told me that the symptoms I’m showing could be ms
. Obviously I’ve googled
And ON is strongly linked with ms, especially with a woman my age and ethnicity.
Am I worrying over nothing? X
It could be MS or not…
Symptons you have described usually happen with MS but there are more heatlh conditions which can cause those symptoms
Emotionally I know what you are going through… Hugs from Spain
Sergio said it well. It could be MS, or it could be something else.
I know that the waiting is hard, but if it really is MS, at least you already know that it’s slow moving. I’m not making light of your symptoms, but you’ve lived with them for 7 years now while not really knowing why. Your life is not going to change if your MRI shows MS. Your doctors will help you find medications that will help slow the disease, and your life will continue as it has been for a very long time.
