Dont think they will post my complaint

I saw an advert for (link removed by moderator) on twitter saying special offer blah blah blah and looked at the site as I want new easygrip knife and fork. I then looked at the "special offer " WHAT A RIP OFF it was rrp 69.99 yet special offer of 29.99 and that was dearer than other comparable. I hate being at the mercy of rip off merchants I will now go to local disability shop where I know it is more expensive but they deserve the trade. If we dont shop local we will loose the local shops and then be at the mercy of those who try and rob us with so called SPECIAL OFFERS

I have used Betterlife for loads of things. You don’t pay VAT if you have MS too which saves a bit.

Hi all, a much cheaper alternative is Dysem, it sticks to itself so can be wrapped round cutlery (also great for other stuff) I’ve also come across what I think was insulation tubes bought from DIY shops for a quid or two, to be honest I’m not sure about that one though.

i went to an equipment session with my MS nurse so these suggestions came from her.

I should also mention sugru. This is stuff thats looks like plasticine but you can mould it to adapt ordinary items. I used it for the handle of a casserole dish. You leave it for 24 hrs and it sets rock hard.

Its waterproof, heat proof and freezer proof! If you look on the website they’ve used it in the Arctic and in space! No kidding!

Very good if you need to adapt something just slightly. Have a lookie!

Don, You should have asked on here first!! What good ideas the people on here have come up with. Your OT should be able to help provide you with suitable cutlery - but you could follow any of the above. l have used a length of pipe insulation as a cover for my handlebars on a old scooter. [Chewed off by my ferrets] Now you were not expecting that.

My friends call me Mrs Make-do-and-mend. As l can usually fix most things. Just now l have repaired my friends ‘bum bag’ - now why do they call them bum bags when they are placed on bellies. He keeps his phone/keys/hoof pick/polos in it when out riding his horse. the zip had broken - the bit you pull had come off and lost. So l have rummaged through my sewing box and found a discarded zip pull - and with a lot of fiddling l have got it on and working. Now both ends stitched so it cannot be pulled off again. He will be riding past here soon - with my daughter - and will be thrilled to get it back.
