i have developed a new habit of suddenly baking a cake.
did one at 11.00 pm - lemon drizzle and its delicious.
i’m not and never have been, a domestic goddess so in my kitchen there is half of a freshly baked cake (son had a piece with me, then i had another!) and loads of flour on the floor see what i mean about not being a domestic goddess!
Hi Carole I have a tendancy of doing this too but not at night time. My fav is guinness chocolate cake (a must try) but then I never eat them! Ended up doing 40 odd cupcakes for a friends halloween party with little hand made pumpkins on top. I find it really relaxing baking but the tidying up is no fun! Xx
My 10 year old son has started wanting to bake a lot. He’s restricted to Friday evenings and weekends due to the amount of cleaning required afterwards. I’d love to do more cooking and baking, but can’t reach anything from the power chair. Over Christmas, I wanted to make Molten Lava Chocolate puddings (paleo) and my other son (13) had to do everything for me. However, as it used dark chocolate and coconut oil, he didn’t want any of the finished article. Pity, it was yummy. Heather
Im having a Mary Berry afternoon, wizzing about the ktchen in my chair, have customised a stool so that i can slide things from the oven onto a tray on the stool so I can get it onto the table safely. victoria sponge done, rocky road in the fridge and chelsea buns rising, all thanks to Mr Ken-Wood my trusty sidekick.Captain Birds eye is having a night out with Mr Kipling so best get some tea done as well.
I had the last piece of homemade Christmas pud tonight and that is now going to be a must make every year. It’s a Delia recipe and it was delicious. Just like a proper old fashioned Christmas pud (thanks to lots of stout and rum!).
Since I have had a Kenwood I have made lots more cakes. It’s a stand mixer, processor and blender and I love the fact that I can leave it running while I sweep up the flour from the floor. (Funny how they always miss out that stage from the recipe lol!)
I have some leftover fruit and marzipan from Christmas baking and plan to throw something together this weekend while I can’t go far.
