Critical illness cover

Hi everyone

I know this has been discussed before on the forum, but I could only find posts from around 8 years ago.

At present I’m looking to obtain Critical Illness Cover, and am finding it quite difficult. The majority of insurers will seemingly cover me for Life Cover, but not for Critical Illness. I’ve even tried asking the insurers if they’re willing / able to omit MS from their policy, but apparently not.

Does anyone on here know of an insurer in the UK who are likely to offer me Critical Insurance cover? I have RRMS (diagnosed in 2013 and currently on Ocrevus), am working full time and don’t have any issues that cause me great concern. I appreciate that the monthly premiums are likely to be higher than a non-MS customer, but I’d still like to explore any options.

Jon, it’s worth asking an insurance broker for advice on this. Honestly, though, the situation is generally as you have described - you usually can’t get critical illness insurance worth a damn if you already have a (generally) qualifying condition like MS.
