Hello everyone I am just wondering if you think I could have ms? I started with a pain in the left side of my abdomen which lasted for 5-6 weeks. I went to the gp and he sent me for blood tests. The pain then went and I started to feel numb in the same area. This spread all the way into my left big toe. Its as if I have been anaesthetised and has been like it now for 12 weeks. Im also constantly tired, had a week of pins and needles in my hands and feet, get random sharp pains, usually in my left arm, as if someonw is poking me inside, and itch terribly at times. The gp sent me for 4 more bloods tests (all of which came back normal)and sent me for mri on brain and spine and referred me to neurologist. I had the results of the mri this week and don’t feel I’m really any clearer about what is wrong. The report said I need further investigation which the gp said he couldn’t do it would be the neurologist. He admitted to not really understanding the scan report. He said lesions on brain were seen and its likely I have demyelination. Neuro appt is not until August. Thanks in advance for any help! Helen
hi helen
it’s a double edged sword this situation.
you don’t want to have ms but you don’t want to hear that they have found nothing.
the neuro will want to do the full battery of tests.
it will be useful to have notes of when your symptoms started.
please don’t work yourself into a frazzle.
good luck

Hi Helen I wouldn’t try to self diagnose yourself . Google is a terrible place for that ! Just take notes of symptoms and when they happen and discuss with your neurologist. Hope all works out for you Ant
