Hi everyone I’m still waiting for my mri results. Today however I have had some sort of flare up. My left leg has been burning all day and has been excruciating to touch. I’m about to get into bed soon and was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to deal with the pain at night in bed to help with sleep. I’m so tired but in so much pain and cannot get comfortable enough to fall asleep. Please help!
Hi amitriptyline is a good nerve painkiller for me. I take 50mg at night.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I’ve had that before it didn’t help unfortunately. I’m on the highest dose of gabapentin atm however this flare up is the worse one I’ve had and nothing is soothing the pain in my skin. I’m just learning to try get on with it but getting into a position where I can sleep with it is proving difficult.

I had this recently like within the last 2 weeks, first time too. Neuro told me standard painkillers likely wouldn’t help and so they prescribed me notriptyline and steroids- cleared up after about a week I also found resting up in bed gave me easier days it seemed movement and clothes were irritating it more

My doctors won’t give me steroids because I don’t have my mri results back they are refusing to give me anything else. I got some gel today that helped the pain in my skin and they upped my gabapentin fingers crossed it works. I’m currently wearing shorts to bed so trousers don’t hurt the skin.

Hello, I had a lumbar puncture that came back normal. My last mri I had lesions on the brain and spine. I’m awaiting another mri this month which is 6 months since the last one. They want to check if any more lesions have developed over this period. If they can’t see any new ones is back to the drawing bored. I’m still having my symptoms and some have actually gotten worse. So all still a waiting game atm.
