Hi all - I saw a Rehabilitation consultant last July and did not realise that I would see him again. Then out of the blue I got a letter and had to go and see him this morning. I took a list of things I wanted to ask, and also things you have mentioned - so it was quite long. He seemed very helpful, and is writing to my GP to recommend another diagnosis from neuro consultant, prescription which may help fatigue. Also home assessment visit, neuro physioherapist and OT. It may have helped that I have a very, very black eye at the moment. the right side of my face is going yellow, and green, so he probably felt sorry for me. He said he would see me in 8 months time, so that is what he probably said last time. The only thing he recommended last time was that I should get some “happy pills” from my doctor - I probably did not help much because I had just fallen down before I saw him so was still very shaken. Anyway I hope all these things come to fruition and will let you know how things go on. Thanks for your support. Jackie xx
Jackie it’s good that he’s referring you for physio, OT etc, I’m sure you’ll benefit from their input. My OT was lovely, she came to the house, chatted away, had a look round and suggested equipment to make life easier. They have a surprising amount of equipment at their disposal to help you. They obviously can’t resolve every difficulty but it’s very reassuring having them available when you find yourself struggling. You need answers and hopefully you’ll get them.

Hi Jackie, OT are great. Helped me no end. I’ve got bed bars to help me get out of bed, a wheelchair, grab bars in bathroom and a level access shower!!! They are really good at coming up with ways to help you. I’m waiting for a neuro physio appointment for my hands. Good luck with it all and let us know how it goes. Have a good weekend. Pat xx

Thanks for your comments - I feel happier because I feel something is going to happen. I will also feel happier being able to tell my friends about these comments as they keep on at me to ask my GP this or that and feel I should have more help. i will keep you informed as it may help others - as a lot of the information I used to ask questions came from this site. So thank you everyone and have a lovely weekend. Jackie xx
