constipation! any ideas! I'm stuck literally!

Excellent post Tina. I’d forgotten about milk of magnesia as a (maybe a bit old fashioned) laxative. My granny used to swear by it.

I just assumed the whole oxypowder thing was nonsense without checking the ingredients. Obviously it would work, but at a vastly inflated price!

I was prescribed some Movicol recently after my bowels went weird following a course of antibiotics, and I can vouch for them - they worked wonders. And I second what Sue said about drinking more - not drinking enough will cause your bladder to become irritated, and make problems with your water works worse.

Another easy way to get more fibre in your diet is to sprinkle linseeds on your breakfast. Taking some probiotics like acidophilus may help your gut too.

Water, stop eating bread for a few days and have tin prunes!!

leave out bread, drink water, eat tin prunes for a couple of mornings

Cheers guys I really appreciate all your advice! I’ve managed go a little this morning but I had a night of stomach cramps so it’s more senna and more laxido tonight it will eventually go! :slight_smile:

Senna sometimes takes 24 hours for me.

Gee whizz, all I wanted to do was pass on my suggestion as to what works for me, not receive an unnecessary lengthy response on how I’ve been ‘had’. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion mind you. Best of luck with your constipation issue xx
