For the last few days ive been suffering from cold hands and cold feet with pain on balls and heals… can’t walk barefoot on floor…
Got the heating on flat out and their still freezing! Its got to the point now that having to wear thick socks to bed, even thinking of wearing gloves tonight in bed, husbands thinks im crazy!
Hi Vickie, Well, yes, it could be a circulation problem, but that is unlikely to be caused by MS. However, are they really cold, I wonder, or are they numb? Because the sensation is similar. Do they look a normal colour, indicating circulation is OK? If your husband touches them, do they feel cold to him too, or normal temperature? If colour appears normal, and temperature feels normal to anyone but you, it’s unlikely to be a circulatory problem, and is probably a sensory issue. Your brain tries to find logical explanations for things, so if you have reduced sensation in hands or feet, due to neurological problems, your brain is more likely to interpret that they must be “numb with cold”, rather than that something’s gone wrong with the wiring. It looks for the explanation that best fits with experience, and usually when things feel numb, it’s from cold, not disease. So if your hands and feet go numb, your brain is most likely to tell you: “They’re cold!” Tina
I have always had icy cold hands and feet. Its mainly my feet but hands too now and then. Not sure what it is. I havent been diagnosed with MS as yet, so not sure if its part of it or not x
