christmas stamps cost

just letting everyone know if they claim a benefit such as dla or employment and support allowance you are able to go into postoffice and buy 36 stamps at last years prices.you just need to bring a letter in with you to prove you are on a benefit.it works out 36 second class stamps would be £18.00 but you would save £5.04 so would pay £12.96.hope this helps a littlex

Yes, I had a leaflet land on the doormat a couple of months ago. The Royal Mail delivered a voucher to every household in the UK saying that anyone in receipt of Pension Credit, ESA or IB can buy up to 36 postage stamps at the Christmas 2011 price from 6th November until Christmas Eve this year.

If you’re interested but have not received the voucher then you can order one online or call Royal Mail Customer Services on 08456 016 248. More details at: http://www.royalmail.com/services/person…tmas-offer

Bill.

My son got his on ESA. He did say upper limit is 36, however since heard some msers are having problems getting them due to their DWP letters not stating ESA. I would therefore pull out as many letters as you have to prove you are in receipt of any of the benefits listed just in case theyre not satisfied with one letter. Saves going back numerous times.

Well worth the discount taking up the offer, thank you for reminding us all.

Many Thanks for posting about this!

I didn’t know about it at all or receive a letter about it, I guess because i’ve only been in receipt of ESA since November.

Thanks for sharing xx

Hi folks- just to let you know that DLA doesn’t cover you for this voucher scheme - I rang them up this morning…

Just to confirm Redman is right, I was turned down yesterday by the post office with my DLA letter in hand!

Hi,

Do you just go into the post office with a letter proving you are in receipt of ESA and they sell you the stamps at the reduced rate?

Thanks

Jools

Jools - ring 08456 016 248 and they will let you know - probably send out a voucher or whatever…

Humph. I have already sold my soul to the devil to get four books of twelve stamps. I could have saved quite a bit!

Thanks Redman,

I phoned that number and they will indeed send me out a voucher but cannot guarentee it will arrive before the offer ends!

They did suggest that perhaps my local postoffice may have some of the vouchers and be able to give me one as long as I can produce my ESA letter and proof of ID, so I’ll give that a shot

Hi Poll and anyone else…,

I went down to my local post office this morning with my esa letter but no leaflet and the kind lady gave me a leaflet to fill in there and then and I purchased my stamps, 36 non Christmas ones, so I can put them aside for use throughout the year.

The nice lady said that most post offices should have spare leaflets for you to fill in and that there is no need to purchase Chrismas specific stamps with this offer!

Thanks again sunshine9 for posting this!
