Don’t know about Scarlet Fever - would have been along time ago.
Did have Polio at about age 4-5.
Full name is Poliomyelitis, but one neurologist assured me that this could not have influenced/been responsible for my MS.
So, I can remember the Battle of Britain (Lived in Kent, between Biggin Hill and West Malling airfields) and next memory is of the buildup to the Normandy landings. Wow, a whole 3-year chunk out of my young life gone missing.
Um, I read this posting and thought I wouldn’t reply because I didn’t have Scarlet Fever or anything other than Chickenpox, but I’ve just looked at it again and wondered why?
Has someone suggested that there’s a connection between Scarlet Fever and MS? I know there’s been a connection made between Glandular Fever, or EBV, and MS (which again I didn’t have).
Years ago I recall reading an article which said that no one with M.S. had ever developed Aids.
Not sure if that is right.
Recall a time when all family except me got verruccas (sp) when on holiday in Butlins many years ago. The ‘joke’ ?? was that the m.s. virus? had clearly protected me.
ive never had a verucca, or a cold sore for that matter (both very common amongst my family and friends tho)
I’ve had chicken pox twice, mumps, glandular fever and shingles 3 times!
The irony is that i’ve always thought that as i’d had so many illnesses as a child it had left me with a great immune system as an adult, pfft!
although to be fair, i very rarely get colds or flu so maybe it did in that respect
