Cannot sleep properly

I sit watching TV and falling asleep. As soon as I get to bed I’m wide awake.

My Fitbit now congratulates me for 6 hours sleep instead of 8 as that is my best effort.

I have Zopiclone (sleeping tablet) but only for occasional use.

I’m so tired…

I don’t know if it is MS that is making this a problem but I’m fed up with it!

I have sleeping problems too and my wife finds it very frustrating.

I can’t sleep more than 2.5 hrs at a time because of the need to pee. Also I can’t conform to the conventional 16hrs awake/ 8hrs asleep pattern. I have to sleep once or sometimes twice during the day. Hence quite often I’ll fall asleep watching TV but won’t be ready for bed when my wife (who still works) wants to go up.

So, we have some similarities, but some differences too. I’d look at my sleeping problems as comorbidities, not MS itself. Perhaps your sleeping pattern is a comorbidity too?

I can often only fall asleep on my own now. It seemed the final straw to my last relationship :man_shrugging:t2:

Hi, this was one of my 1st signs of MS, I had eye problems in 1990, then used to fall a sleep at the drop of a hat, watching TV, travelling home as a passenger in the car, I was only in my early 30’s and my hubby used to say " why are you always falling a sleep " little did I know what was around the corner, in 2007 I was dx’d with MS, straight in at secondary progressive, still sleep a lot now, have a sleep every lunchtime, I have alot of other symptoms, but fatigue is 1 of the worst, I gte that you’re fed up, me too.

Hi there,
I’m not sure if MS is entirely the fault of lack of sleep; unless the pain keeps you restless.
I think limiting caffeine intake. I limit mine to mornings.
Good luck and best.
