Can I do it?....

Hi All,

Haven’t been on here for ages as just getting on with life really. As we all are. Plus summer holidays are now over and school went back last week.

Some might be happy about the ‘mini heatwave’ we are currently in the midst of; but I am not. Spare a thought for us MS sufferers who really can’t cope in this heat. Also working in an office with no air conditioning, windows open and desk fans to blow around the warm air.

So I am writing to all of you, not you tell me what to do, just for advice really. I am 43 years old and just found out I’m pregnant. (Took one test yesterday which was +ve, but will do another one today, just to check).
Only diagnosed with MS in March 2021 and am on Tecfidera.

What is the next step? Do I advise my GP before my Consultant or speak with the MS Nurses?
Can I do this with MS? Will it hurt me or the baby?

Any advise would great. Thank you in advance.
Lots of love Ellie

First & foremost: Congratulations! :tada:

If pregnant, don’t do anything without an endorsement from your MS Team.

This might help answer some of your questions. Hopefully, someone better qualified will be along soon.

Congratulations and yes of course you can do it….you have MS it doesn’t have you! Contact your MS team pronto regarding your meds just in case they’re not safe for the baby. All the best.
