the last few weaks iv been getting a rarther annoying buzzing in my left ear. It sounds like a phone on vibrate at the other side of the room. The weirdest thing is that its a rythem that then stops for 30ish seconds and then starts again from the begining. Could this be part of my MS and if so dose any one else have the same problem?
I’m not diagnosed but have a similar noise mainly in my right ear, that started with what I think was a “relapse”…I’m awaiting the results of MRI’s, it was worse in bed as I can distract myself through the day
I have chatted to others on here who have tinitus since getting ms.
By the way it has stopped since the doc gave me low dose steroids, (prednisolone)
This could be a spasm in your ear. I sometimes get popping or heart beat sounds in my left ear.
Mention it to your doctor or MS nurse if you have one. Hope it stops. Jen x
Hi, I have MS related tinnitus, but mine is a constant high-pitched sound. Unusual to get it stopping and starting like you have.
First thing to do is see the GP. It might be something as simple as a build-up of wax in your ear (which can cause many problems from buzzing sound, to dizziness to balance problems).

I have tinnitus in both ears because of my MS. It’s a high pitched ringing for me and it’s constant.
There are other causes though so, as the others have said, best to see your GP - it could be something simple to fix.

I too have MS related tinnitus. In both ears. It’s constant but only really bothers me when all is quiet and I’m in bed trying to get to sleep!
It’s a bit like the white noise that goes on with fridges, central heating etc. When it first started I roamed the house looking for something I’d left switched on by accident.
