Butterfly Vertebrae

I’m just undergoing all the different tests, I have lesions on my brain but my MRI scan results say I have ‘congenital butterfly vertebra at T5’.

My next appointment is on the 2nd February and my neurologist said he wants to discuss then.

What is congenital butterfly vertebra and what does it mean? Could this be the reason for my left side weakness and numbness?

It is an abnormality of one of your vertebrae, from when you were developing as a tiny baby in the womb. It is often symptomless. Hopefully your neurologist will be able to answer all your questions, and whether it is connected with your symptoms. Not too long to wait for your appointment, though even a few weeks feels an age! Good luck.
