Brain Fog

my husband actually owns a vinyl album of the Orb’s.

it just goes on and on and on.

may be ok with a spliff but ain’t got any.

do have a tiny amount of gin though.

Sue - colours of the rainbow Red(coch) Orange (oren) Yellow (melyn) Green (gwyrdd) Blue (Glas) Indigo (Porffor)Violet (fioled) No Pink (pinc) here in mid-Wales rainbows - (not to be confused with popty ping.) The Welsh for rainbow is Enfys - a common name for girls here in the Principality. Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain. Oh! and another delightful Welsh word – ‘Pi-Po’ means to peek.

Ok a little Pi-Po into Welsh history. Was the Richard of York the same one who went to war with Henry VI of England and died at Wakefield (father of Edward IV)? I didn’t know he’d fought in Wales.

It would be perfect with my Time-turner pendant and earrings, and my Severus Snape wand!

We had problems with Edward who built a lot of castles in Wales - and there was our heroic Owain Glyndwr - afraid that’s the sum of my scanty history knowledge - it was a choice between history and scripture at school) I know little about monarchs.

just been reading some welsh history. william jones who came up with the symbol for pi clever lad. owain glyndwr - rebel and i love rebels. i can’t believe that we never covered these interesting people in history.

Severus Snape? But he’s nasty! Not that I’d want a Potter wand, but surely there’s someone cool who’s not a Slytherin who’s wand you could have?

The Edward who built all those English castles (such as Carnarvon and Harlech) was the First of that name. He was the one who slightly conquered Wales, although some would have it that the Welsh were never going to submit to English rule. He was good at castle building though.

In fact you could argue that Wales conquered England when Henry Tudor snatched the throne from Richard III at the battle of Bosworth and in becoming HenryVII began the long rule of the Tudors.

§

Somewhere, amongst all this nonsense, there was a relatively sensible discussion about who’s magic wand you’d want. I can’t find it now, but here’s my choice.

If it were a toss up between Voldemort’s, Severin Snape, or even Lucian Malfoys wands and Sootys, I’d choose the evil Slytherins rather than Sootys wand. I’d even rather have Luna Lovegoods wand.

I’d also sooner have Glinda the Good Witch, or even the Wicked Witch of the West’s wand over Sootys. Sooty is a rubbish magician. Not a witch or a wizard at all.

Although he did have a friend called Ssssoo.

And? What are you insinuating?

he’s calling you an ultra girly panda.

she got right on my nerves.

sweep was the best of them.

i’ve been sipping gin whilst i cooked the tea and whilst i watched the chase.

really love a gin!

i just had a plateful of vegetables again.

gone right off meat.

it was nothing like a rainbow though.

horseradish mash, carrots and swede (with loads of butter and black pepper on) and a bit of cauliflower.

so basically orange and white.

in defiance of sainsbury’s!

I know. He’s an Evil Professor.

Your dinner sounds fine. Gin and vegetables. What could be better?

I had gin and fennel & prawn risotto with wine.

I also made a fennel risotto with wine in it (plus loads of Parmesan) But no pesky prawns for me. The main problem was peeling shallots (why we can’t use onion which is much more grippable with 1 1/2 working hands is beyond me)

sometimes i go off eating. talking about nice food helps to whet my appetite. just joined a facebook group called Memories of Hindley Green small town where i grew up. someone posted a school photo from St John’s my primary school. met my bestie from when i was little, i’m dead chuffed about that. they are having a reunion which will be ace. i appear to be saying many things at the same time - duh, i apologise. (a little bit). have a wonderful day and i hope you all reunite with friends from way back because it has made my day! xxxxxx

Some months ago I was curious about my mother’s maiden name, Sörens, suspecting that it was originally a Danish name. I was right, and it means stern or severe. The Latin for severe is Severus, which is why Hubby bought me a Severus Snape wand for my birthday. Oh, and if you read the Harry Potter books, particularly the last two, it turns out that Severus isn’t as nasty as you think. If anything, Harry’s dad was worse during their school days, a nasty bully picking on Snape whenever he could. The memory of the bullying is why Snape’s so mean to Harry and his friends.

If I was a Hogwarts student I’d want to be in Ravenclaw. Based on the attributes of people in that house, it’s the one I most identify with.

Didn’t Sssooo get pregnant by Sooty at one stage?! I believe it was in 1994. Is there something we aren’t being told on this thread? A Concealed Child?! A Hidden Pregnancy!?! Even WORSE, was it an entirely fake pregnancy marking a failed attempt by Sssoo to get Sooty to marry her?!Were copious amounts of Gin involved?!?

Stay tuned, people, for another episode of Cog Fog: The Soap!!

Sir,

You should know better than that. Edam can not be classified as cheese, it is a synthetic by-product of candle wax and copydex combined with some sludge that the Dulux hazzard removal team found. Not on my recommended list although marginally better than Leerdammer or Jarlberg.
