Brain Fog

For ‘instant pugilism or ninja notions’, may I qualify the Gorgonzola must be of the ‘piccante’ variety rather than the ‘dolce’. The dolce is lovely, but will probably lead to more gentle, dreamy type feelings rather than aggression.

Roquefort on the other hand is almost always a bit fighty.

(Other cheeses are of course available and each will have its own repercussions, emotionally!)

And OMG I want some cheese. Right now. And we only have some slightly iffy cheddar. (Leads to feelings of mild depression as it’s almost good enough, but not quite.)

always willing to lend you a bit of Pilgrims choice extra mature cheddar

Ah ha!

Didn’t see any of that when I was being held captive by the Evil Dr Anthony did we?

I had to nip out of the back door while he was putting the cat out last night.

Ah, Albrecht Ducker, your infamous incarceration by the ‘Evil AnthonyA’. I’m still not convinced you don’t have a Multiple Personality Disorder. I suspect you perhaps have an least one alternate personality, that of AnthonyA (interesting that this is the first time he’s been identified as a doctor. Hmmmm!).

Have you ever been a patient as an inpatient at a psychiatric institution? Or perhaps undergone a court mandated series of sessions with a psychiatrist? Or just encouraged by a doctor to be evaluated by a psychiatrist?

I’m becoming increasingly concerned about your mental health as time goes by.

No, but I have had several restraining orders taken out against me. Does that count?

found the thread on the second page - rude!! wales is lovely. the hotel was wonderful, with a gifted chef and a bartender who made excellent cocktails. so if you are ever in llandudno try The Lilly.

632 posts to 10,000!

I started to write a post to ask how your jaunts around the country have been. It sounds like you’ve had a good time and are now completely banjaxed.

Maybe I’ll look up The Lily. I’m sure I’d like a trip to North Wales, but it’s a hell of a long way from here. Not sure my bladder would enjoy the journey!

i know sue,

it’s a long drive for us and we’re a lot closer than you.

just think though, maybe tracey DC could meet you there!

that would be mayhem in wales!

The Coven Committee AGM?

If I ever get to North Wales, I shall be summoning a meeting of the Coven. You included Carole as chief witch. Obviously Tracey is rather handily already there.

Ooh I’m in a very ranty mood today. I’ve moaned about the DWP, NICE and the CCGs, who else can I complain about. Obviously MS generally.

I wonder if there’s a type of cheese to maximise a ranting old witch? Or perhaps a cheese to calm down a person having a particularly ranty day?

borderline tete de moine shouty? the pre fighty stage of angry cheese poisoning. I suggest bathing in gin…

M

I’ve read about a cheese with “a two hundred horse-power scent that could carry three miles and knock a man over at two hundred yards.”

Unfortunately the writer, Jerome K Jerome, forgot to name it.

Not the horse with no name?

sounds like a Unicorn that has gone to the darkside

I am currently drinking a ‘not too cheap datey’ sized gin. Then will be drinking Shiraz to accompany koftas and roasted vegetables and nice stuff like harissa and tsatziki. And soft corn tortillas. Not cheese but will be an acceptable substitute.

§

I’m still feeling quite ranty. Yesterday’s gin didn’t really change anything. Or it might have done then today I got a bit arsy with different NHS departments (all to do with having an appointment cancelled, being told to rebook, then that I need an ‘access code or password’, which is unobtainable!!)

So it’s cheesy pasta (Gorgonzola and Parmesan) with red pepper and courgettes tonight. Will see if a proper strong cheese makes a difference.

Failing that you could always try being nice to people.
