Hi Lolley
I saw this post yesterday but don’t know enough to answer.
Ask your consultant neuro, the midwifery team and GP.
the neuro could advise on the safest DMD in your situation.
The others can advise on what’s best for baby.
I hope you get a lot more replies,
Carole xx
Hi Carol,
Thanks for your reply! I have spoken to my consultant and he says this is the only safe DMD for pregnancy and breast feeding, yet on some websites and also the information which comes with my meds, it says that its not.
So I am just a little confused!
Hello Lolley
Brabio is the same as Copaxone.
The advice can be a bit contradictory regarding taking it during pregnancy. But have a look at https://mstrust.org.uk/a-z/copaxone-glatiramer-acetate or https://mstrust.org.uk/a-z/brabio-glatiramer-acetate (identical information)
Not that I have any experience! Maybe someone will answer you who does?
Sue
Hi Sue,
Thank you, I will have a read. Yes this is what is confusing, but surely if the neurologist says its okay, then it must be right?
Lauren.
Hello again
As Carole said, maybe talk to your GP, midwife, obstetrician as well. The problem with specialists is that sometimes they are a bit tunnel visioned. You could do with a doctor who understands both the drug and its effect on pregnancy / the baby.
(Maybe your neurologist is such a person!)
Best of luck.
Sue
The information on the Barts Blog might be of interest.
Thank you for all your replies! I will have a look into it a bit more and discuss it with a midwife when it happens!
Lauren.
