Hello
I’ve had both AstraZeneca jabs this year and am due to go for booster next weekend. Trying to find out if I will get a third AstraZeneca full dose or a different vaccine. Contacted the helpline and they couldn’t tell me. She just said I should ask when I go for vaccine. Not very helpful.
Can anyone shed some light please?
Thank you
As far as I know boosters are all Pfizer or Moderna.
Yeah, I thought 3rd doses were all Pfizer, I had AZ for first 2 and Pfizer for 3rd. Everyone I know has been same.
same here - 2 az jabs then pfizer - (no side effects!)
Same here as well 2 AZ then Pfizer booster all ok.

Not adding much to what has already been said but my first two were AZ and my booster was Pfizer.
Nice lady at the centre said all boosters are Pfizer or Moderna irrespective of what your first ones were
pfizer or moderna. I am not having my booster. I believe you cant mix oil with water. Pfizer is an MRNA and AZ is totally different.
I am taking the 5th amendment on any more comments from me. BUT have been reading from scientists some very interesting things about MRNA jabs.
My wife and I had AZ both times and when we went for our booster we were told it’s Pfizer. Not given an option for Moderna. Been a month and no side effects again. I was told Pfizer was the best booster but i suppose any vaccination is better than not having one. For anybody wary of side effects we took paracetamol an hour before each jab and then again 4 hours later. May be a coincidence but we suffered no side effects doing this.
I had 2x AstraZeneca.
Moderna booster yesterday - sore arm but otherwise fine.
As others said - 2 main ones then different booster.
New variant is worrying. Hope we all stay safe.

I’ve decided, for the moment, to wait it out until the Novavax becomes available for the booster - it looks to be imminent (days or a few weeks). I’ve had AZ x 2, severe fatigue each time for months after and irregular heatbeat developed about the time of the first vaccine (which may or may not be connected).
I have very little contact with other people, and intend to keep it that way for the time being, but will be watching the situation closely.
I’ve upped my Vit D dose to 4000 IU units (with Vit K2).
my sister in law has diabetes and had the moderna she was like sleeping beauty for 2 days could not get out of bed, and is still not right. My brother had it too but not the side affects.
I dont want pfizer as there are new scientific reports out about it. I would rather have the AZ which my body is used too. All my friends who have had a booster quite a few of them have been ill afterwards. My friends husband several weeks after the booster (pfizer) wasnt feeling well so he had a PCR and it tested positive for covid. they say it helps you have it mild, but even MILD SARS can develop into something over time. It does slow down the death rate though well double vaccination does that which is good. So many countries now have as many covid with the vaccination as without.
the figures have got worse. more worse then when we didnt have the vaccine. I am not a conspiraracy theorist far from it, but i do think the MRNA was designed way too fast. At least the AZ was already on the shelf for 10 years prior to SARS and they were just waiting to find out what the disease would be that they would need to tweak the vaccine too.
I think we should all be vaccinated. But i am not at risk as i am housebound. If i was out and about i would think differently. But i would rather my vaccine went to someone who hasnt even been vaccinated yet like in africa for example were this new variant is coming from.
Hi there
My first vaccine was AZ. Had my booster on Weds of last week and had Pfizer.
Not sure of the rationale behind it.
Felt rough for a day - tired mainly - but it was fine.
Sorry I can’t be more help xx
First 2 were Astra, Booster a few weeks ago was Pfizers. Had recently had a course of Steriods so that may have made any aside effects worse. Injection day I was fine, Morning after I was sick, few symptoms flare up and I was back to normal around 2pm. Even if I new what to expect I’d still take the Pfizer because it’s different to the vaccines I’ve already had and will ad a slightly different anti-body response.
Just because I didn’t take it well doesn’t mean you will either so don’t let me put you of it. Tingly_B above had the Pfizer Booster and obviously handly it better than me…won’t lie I’m a little jealous lol
Two days on from my Pfizer booster (first two were AZ) and my only symptom is a slight swelling, redness and tenderness at the injection site.
Thanks everyone for your replies.

As I now booster should’t be the same as the first two shots. Pfizer will be ok.
