Body stiffness

Hi. I know stiffness is common in MS I wondered if my symptoms are: Back stiffness, calf stiffness have been for a 10 minute walk, that helped but I seem to seeze up after an hour again. I lay down in bed and my back aches. I seem to get this constant stiffness pain that is getting worse and I get no relief. Have taken paracetamol. Have got the sunbunt back sensation. I feel like I will be as stiff as a board soon. Last night I was twitching quite alot all over body (not spasms). I was tested for Lyme disease, have had an MS diagnosis for 7 weeks now. xx Does anyone else get stiffness all over? thanks

Doesn’t really help but I have an awful stiff back and legs. Particularly when I’ve been in bee my back feels awful. My legs are stiff in a morning too, struggle walking down steps but it resolves until I sit for too long (I’m not diagnosed just under investigation) x

My left calf is really tight and by the evening I feel as if my whole body stiffens up and I am like an old woman, whereas in the day I can now walk vaguely ok. Last night I just couldn’t get to sleep as my hips started aching and I wondered if that was an MS symptom. I have been diagnosed with CIS but have had 2 relapses so far.

[/quote] It sounds like me what your describing, I have the same sunburnt feeling on back and

tops of arms. My stiffness is worse when i wake up in the morning, i feel i have to stretch out the

minute I wake, i feel i going to get massive cramps. I was diagnosed Aprill last year I only take

paracetomol at the moment, going to see about something to help with stiffness thow good luck. kitty

I think either I had ADEM to begin with or massive onet MS. (A multi-symptomatic 4.5 month first relapse) I didn’t sleep much last night as was twitching/ these might be myclonic jerks. i’ve contacted a local neuro who specialises in CNS diseases and have requested an urgent private consultation. I just feel that every neuro i’ve seen thinks i’m in better shape than I really was.

hi

my neuro prescribed tizanidine for stiffness.

my gp prescribes it because the neuro requested it.

have a word with your gp. say that your quality of life is being affected.

good luck

A decent physio should be able to advise a stretching routine to follow and a massage might help loosen you up.

Hey thanks soke good advice there. I will contact my GP and request a good physio, wonder if I can get a massage on the NHS? i doubt it.
