Blood tests during Coronavirus lockdown?

Is there any advice about getting regular blood tests done during the Coronavirus lockdown?

Is it still safe to go to the hospital for blood tests?

Are we still allowed to ask for community support nurses to come to our homes and do blood tests?

Thanks!

Hi Tim

I’d phone the doctor’s surgery. Most of them have nurses who take bloods and have scheduled pick ups to the laboratories. If they don’t come to the house they might have a quiet time where you could go in.

Good luck

Hello Tim.

I had my blood done at home last week after ringing the surgery.

They asked about self-isolating and if I had a temperature etc but they still did it. Of course, I don’t have ny symptoms.

Best wishes.

I normally have district nurses come every 4 weeks to change my catheter.

I got a call to say the \Bladder & Bowel Continence service is coming instead…on wed…hope they`ve done these before…

Hello. I got a letter rearranging my blood monitoring appointment from the main AE hospital to a smaller hospital. Appt at 9.15am the other side of the city ( thankfully small city) but I do feel a little anxious as I’m not good in the mornings and I only vaguely know where the hospital is. I normally go a few days before if I have an appointment in a new place so I know where I’m going, but don’t think this will be possible in the current circumstances. Just hope it’s easy to find as I get lost really easily. Appt beginning of June and apparently they are doing this till at least end of June. I think after this I will have “visited” all 6 hospitals in the city! Lol. As my friend say, I have a frequent flyer pass - doesn’t everyone on here!
