I would like to get in line and wish this “spring chicken” the very best on your birthday. I wish I could be 68 again if my wife was healthy.
Like it or not, MS is now part of who you have become. I am very sorry for that and wish you well. Your MS story is not only important to your family but to friends and others who you interface with or hear about your illness. Talk about the good days and the bad days, what you like and do not like. Mention your doctors and care system; were they helpful? Did you feel safe with them? What has the MS Society meant to you. You and I write a lot, and this is just one more outlet for your kindness and generosity. Always, Jim
This morning my daughter, who now lives with us, came downstairs, put her arm round me and gave me a gentle kiss, saying Thanks so much, for the book Mum. I cant believe how many things you kept and Ive never seen some of those photos`.
At the back of the book is a wallet where you can put special items.
In there I had put her baby weight card, her immunisation record, cards she`d made for me as a child and other special things.
I`m so happy she enjoyed reading it, as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Today I sent the same kind of book with photos, momentos, memories and even a blonde pony tail from when our youngest daughter was 6.
Hope she`ll love it just as much as her big sis.
If anyone would like to see these books, they are at The Works…hard back and just £4. They store a wealth of wonderful family memories.
I had an extra birthday treat today. Daughter took me to White Rose Centre, in Leeds.
She took me into a restaurant I`ve never been in…Wagamamma…and I ate tempura vegetables, endamane beans and pulled pork dumplings…all garnished with salad in soy sauce.
Me again! The book about my life etc which was sent to our youngest daughter, didnt arrive!
I know…horrors! All those original photos of me, my mum, my hubby, our girls and momentos of our family and even a blonde ponytail belonging to my daughter…all lost…I was devastated!
I asked daughter if she`d received a parcel from me, but didnt say what it was. We tracked it…it was delivered last Saturday at 12.55 and signed for by someone with the right surname…but to number 110 instead of 130.
Hubby had put the wrong number on the package…but how could it have been signed for by someone with my daughter`s surname???
Postie must`ve been a naughty man, eh?
Anyway daughter went to 110 and yes, the parcel was there. Mrs.110 had looked through it trying to find a telephone number to let us know she had it.
So daughter had it…all was well!
She rang me after reading it and it had made her both laugh and cry and then she said something so touching;
Mum, this is the most beautiful thing you have ever given me!
