Hi I work 5 days a week, but im reaching a point where i need to drop a day, financially this will have some impact, obviously and wondered if any body knows what help (if any) would be available to me x
Do you claim PIP? There is also the disability element of working tax credits which can be claimed if you’re deemed to be at a disadvantage to work. The links Lenney gave can probably give more information.
Benefits and work (http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/) are really only about ESA, DLA and PIP. But, it may be worth you looking at PIP if you don’t already get it. Otherwise, the CAB has info on all available benefits; Disabled Working Tax Credit may be of some help, but it is means tested, also Child Tax Credit, if you have children. Likewise, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Credit are also means tested, so it very much depends on your salary after you have renegotiated your working hours / salary. Unfortunately, all means tested benefits are quite limited in terms of how much income you can have before qualifying.

Hi, I’ve noticed that some of the local branches branches of the MS Society have a benefits adviser, they seem to work limited hours a week. The near me link on this page has details of local branches.
Thanks for the info, its given me a lot to go on.Its going to be a difficult decision but something’s got to give. x
I just thought, the CAB has a benefits calculator that might be of some help: Benefit calculators: what benefits can you get - Citizens Advice
