Back Problems anyone?

Has anyone had problems with their lower backs ? or possibly around their hips, I think mine is muscle related but not

too sure.

Thanks in advance

Andy

Hi Andy, its quite a common symptom and can interfere with mobility also be quite painful. There are meds to help with the pain and ease the stiffness and exercises to help keep the spine supple and you mobile. If your having problems Andy have a word with your gp who can arrange the physio for you to show the exercises and the meds which also help. Good luck Andy. Frank.

Hi Andy

This is one of the problems I am having at the moment…pain around my hips and feels like muscles dont want to move…takes me ages to stretch it out and a hot water bottle helps some of the time. Dont know which is worse…this particular pain or the constant crushing in my ribs!! lol…you got to laugh…

I know loads of MSers with lower back pain. Best thing is to get an appointment with a neurophysio via your GP. They’ll be able to work out what’s causing it (it’s could be the way you’re walking, compensating for weakness, etc or it might be directly related to your neuro problems) and offer advice and exercises to help.

This is another one of those threads where I think ‘aha - I’m not the only one!’ My back has been bothering me for a while, and today I’ve just barely coped with work because of the pain from my back. At least we’re not alone in this!

Can’t believe just read this. My backs been playing up last few days I thought I might have trapped a nerve. Keep getting stuck when standing up from sitting or crouching over…very painful. Never. Considered it could be ms related. Xxxxxx

Hello ALL thanks for all your advice and kindness, this has been ongoing for about 2 weeks, with other problems

I was at the point of saying why me , I have picked myself up and will just have to see what the neuro says on the 29th

thanks guys I thought I was going mad

hugs ( not ms ones ) to you all

I’m very interested to read what you’ve all been saying as it was only yesterday I posted as a result of hip and back pain. I have got osteoarthritis in my hip, but the last few weeks there’s been a lot of pain and stiffness which feels different to arthritis pain. The consultant is referring me for another MRI (first one was 18 months ago) and also physio but I haven’t heard about that yet. For now it’s take pain meds and get on with life as best as possible. Hope you get helpful answers soon Andy. Hazel

Thanks Hazel,

yep that’s about all you can do is take the pills, rattle as you walk and put a smile on your face, as a consequence painkillers for pain bind me up , and then when I do “GO” , I have a day complete opposite afterwards

cant win can we, my back is the same as it has for the past 2 weeks, well say back it’s more in the hip region.

thanks for your reply, take care of yourself…Andyx
