I hope you are doing well. I would like a touch of advice if possible.
I started on Avonex late last year, injecting on Thursdays. It’s not really working for me as it floors me for most of Friday.
Therefore, I’d like to change the injection day to Tuesday. Can I go backwards in time, as it were? I was thinking of injecting on a Wednesday (6 days) and then on the following Tuesday (6 days). It would be quicker than going forwards in time!
I think I read somewhere that it has to be at least 5 days between doses. Any experiences or guidance would be very much appreciated.
Like you i inject on Thursday and still after 4 years still feel like crap the next day unless i take take some tablets. Anyway from what i remember i was advised that if i missed my injection day i must inject witihin 24 hours . At the beginning i used to inject on a tuesday. Struggled to inject because of the size of the needle. So couldnt do until the next day. Happend a few times hence why i now inject on a Thursday. Never missed an injection since moving onto the smaller injector and needle.(wife presses the button) .Will now be moving onto BG12 when it becomes available. Hope this helps and you understand what im trying to say.
I started Avonex recently and covered your question when getting info from the ms nurse. Apparently you can move your day gradually by doing the injection a day later each week until you get to the day you want to stop at i.e. week 1 Thursday, week 2 Friday, week 3 Saturday…week 6 Tuesday.
Apparently it doesn’t work in reverse i.e. you shouldn’t take the injection earlier than you are due to.
