Marty - The Believer!
Hi Marty, I’m sorry and, yes, I know I’m Scottish, but I just can’t bring myself to support him. He comes across as so grumpy and bad tempered that I just don’t like him. I hope he loses! Anyway, enjoy the match Marty. Cheryl:-)
Pressure/shy? I wish him luck BUT I cannot watch…
I do hope he wins but must say he seems to have had a personality bypass. Perhaps when he retires he will become human, like John McEnroe seems to have done.

They have just found the Higgs Boson but unfortunately they have failed to find a Murray personality!

Haha,
Have this convo this time every year! I know it’s mean, and very unpatriotic, but I keep willing him to miss, or even fall flat on his face! I wouldn’t wish him to be hurt; I’m not that nasty, but anything that means he isn’t winning. I want it to go to somebody I like - whether or not they’re British. I’m afraid any of the remaining contenders get my vote ahead of Murray.
I’m sorry Nadal didn’t progress to the final rounds this year; he didn’t seem himself, in either play or conduct. I kept wondering if he wasn’t well.

Well what can I say? Hurray!
Oh and there was a bit of emotion at the end. Tears in his eyes awwwwwwwwww.
Bring it on …
Marty
He does have a dry sense of humour, but surely the most important thing is that he is a fine tennis player, if not quite as good as the other three.
Rather ominously, I thought Federer looked back to his best yesterday and Murray will need to be on top of his game to win. I fear he will be Scottish in Monday’s papers.
Come on Andy!!!our own dour Scots guy. Make it your day. We are with you all the way. Sanddypops
I shall be glued to the final as I was to the semi final, and in fact all his matches. He has a chance to beat Federer but he will have to play at his absolute best. I wish him success - it would be quite something for him to win in the Queen’s jubilee as Virginia Wade did in 1977.

My thoughts and sentiments exactly Tina. I’m a huge Nadal fan but for today it’s…Go Roger!! Sxx
Ooooh. Nearly but not quite.
Never mind at least the footy starts again next month!!!
Marty
He’ll be back - he is only 25. The Scots should be very proud of him - he has such determination and stamina. l know he hasn’t a cheerful persona - unlike the French guy Jo-Wilfred Tsonge - who smiled and smiled and was full of charm.
Murray is a battler - and yes l do admire him. At least he doesn’t behave like McEnroe did - who does seem to have had a personality change as he has matured.
l never liked the Williams sisters when they first appeared on the Wimbledon scence - but they have become friendlier and more personable.
lts the women players who make such a noise - grunting and wheeing that l can’t stand - no matter how good they play.

Hi All,
After the final, a lot of people should eat there words.
Yes he was not good enough to win,not sure if he will ever win one.
But the interview after the game, that was when we seen the real Murray, passionate, proud, and not afraid of showing emotion.
He has made a lot of new supporters now,but he has been getting intervewed now for years and is not one for the limelight like some of our so called stars. If nothing else he has got a lot of new children playing the game now.
I for one feel proud of him.
Take Care All,
Chris.
Here here Chris, well said. It was agonising seeing how upset he was but how he held it together during that interview. I too was proud of him.
And sorry Campion but I cannot STAND Serena Williams and wish it had been anybody but her who won.
