Anybody Have a Good Neurologist Reccomendation in the Glasgow Area?

It definitely seems going private for a neurologist appointment is the best option now, not sure I can handle waiting on the NHS.

Does anybody in the Glasgow area or even Scotland really have any recommendations? If it’s not a hassle could I also get a ballpark figure of the price range. I’ve always wanted to go private but have never really had the means however the not knowing part is unbearable and I would like to get this diagnosed so I can have a little bit of closure at least.

Thanks in advance for any replies,

Jamea

Comeon you Glaswegians help James out

I know it’s not Glasgow but I contacted the Edinburgh clinic and was advised it would be £200 for a neurologist appointment- my diagnosis came before I cracked and went private! My NHS neurologist is based at the southern general though, I am NHS Lanarkshire, he’s quite good though not an ms specialist ( he has now referred me on to his collegue)

hiya mine is at the southern general too there meant to be the top notch at the southern

Last year I saw an MS neurologist at the Southern General, they were excellent. I found I had around a 3 month wait. Unfortunately I had to move house for work and I am now with Fife NHS. I have experienced a 6 month wait to see a neurologist here. My new doctor told me that the best MS neurologists in the country are based at Glasgow. Please be patient and you will be seen.

I too have been tempted to go private as diagnosis seems to take forever. I’m now 1 year and 3 months into awaiting diagnosis. I fully expect it to take at least 2 years to receive a diagnosis. This is what happens when you leave Glasgow

mines is at the new southern general aswell he is really good but im sure its NHS

hi jp did you manage to find a neurologist yet and get a price i think i might end up going same way the one i had at the southern was a locum from cambridge and a complete moron (in my humble opinion) doesnt seem to know her a**e from her elbow
