Hello everyone!
I was wondering if there were any members on here who had a non-textbook presentation of MS? I’ve had my brain and entire spine imaged with and without contrast since December of 2023. As of today, every image has been normal.
However, I do have 11 OCBs in my spinal fluid, with none in my serum, along with some wonky symptoms. Based on my research, MS seems to be the most likely cause of the o-banding. However, my first neuro only tested for myelin and o banding in my csf. I’m still going through the process of getting a second opinion, but I’m not super hopeful it’ll turn up anything, and I’ll just be left with MS on the table.
With no visible lesions, and a no real relapses I can remember, I’m worried that I don’t quite fit into the “relapse-remitting” category of MS. Has anyone here gone through something similar, or do those with RRMS usually not have progressive symptoms in the beginning? All of my symptoms come and go multiple times throughout the day, but my calf/knee weakness is pretty persistent. I’m also starting to develop more muscle pain in my calf, and it’s beginning to cramp easily after refusing to cramp at all for months prior.
I want to believe that I would have RRMS due to my younger age, but it’s been 9 months since this ride started, and I’m still waiting for a relapse to hit. I suppose I could have something wrong with me that’s not MS as well, but I don’t know of anything else that fits better at the moment.
Anyway, thank you for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
