Hello all you lovely people, me again with another wee question… sorry.
My lower back has been quite sore since Sunday but I have muddled through as best I can. Hubbie bought a belt type thing with tens machine which helps a bit but yesterday was particularly bad.
I was at work(and my work/colleaugues are so lovely and supportive) but whiclst out in playground with the children my back got reaaly bad making walking back into the main building really really tricky.
I made it back to my room but just then my colleague (who was with me in yard) appeared with our lovely head. They had my best intentions but really wanting me to go home.
I managed to stay at my desk, doing a bit of work whilst waiting for the gp to call.
The gp seen me yesterday and they have said they would like imaging of the back done. The fact that I have had breast cancer in the past was mentioned, which kinda really scares me,thye did not say there is any connection but want to check out everything.
MS spoke with us yesterday and asked vasrious questions but does not think it is ms related.
In my head I think it is the way I am walkong has maybe pulled a wee something in the back and that this is a blip which hopefully will pass. Srry for the long rabble I was just wondering if any of you great folk have had back problems.
The GP did want me off work but I managed to say I would rather go in and try. The kids are getting into a great wee routine now.
Much love to all
Mary x
Hi Mary,
Ouch, sounds sore.
I sometimes get back pain if I bend a certain way. My mobility is very limited so I think it’s due to sitting in the same position for too long.
Does a pain killer help?
Worth getting a scan.
I teach too. The children are great and move my walker for me, get things for me etc. Keeps me going.
Take care
Jen
Hi Jen,
Thank you so much for your kind reply. I’m hoping this is a blip that will pass. The pain killers don’t really do much but I am doing my best to continue as I am and hopefully things settle soon. Yes getting the scan/x ray is the best my gp feels so I will do as I am told and keep doing what I love, kids are great and are so very helpful what with me now having the stick. Take Care

Way back before diagnosis about 2006 I had the worse back ache, it felt like my spine was cased in concrete. I could barely tolerate it I knew i was unwell. I was at work and i can still remember that back ache. in 2016 was diagnosed with PPMS. Over the time I have had back aches lower I do have a touch of ostapena in the tail end coxic of my spine.
It could be your MS for sure, BUT I am one for never just thinking everything is about MS. Only you know how you feel. I still use a heat pad, and if i get back ache i use my magical formula TIGER BALM which stops the pain.
Do not leave it to chance ok, better to do the imaging and I am sure you will then feel happy it was your back all along. xxx
Thank you all for the recommendations, we will definitely look at the proposals at our leisure.
Thank you so much for your kind replies.
I will get the imaging done and hopefully all will be well.xx
Hello hun. I do feel for you. Back pain has been a major part of my pain on and
off for years. It has usually been caused by posture and or the wrong kind of support cushions. Maybe a physio can advise you on that.
Meanwhile good luck with the investigations

hi, I had something very similar and on occasions still do.I found when I was standing around for a period of time my lower back was really sore and at it’s worse I had difficulty straightening it and then walking. Once I sat down for a while it did recover. I try to keep moving walking instead of standing and sometimes moving on the spot but when I start to feel it the answer is to sit down for a while. Definitely MS related for me. When I was teaching it was when we did a fire drill - every time.
