I always maintained that with the motif for disabled parking space being a person in wheelchair that’s who it should apply to.
If anybody else ‘qualifies’ there should be bays reserved for them with the letters C. W. U. N. T. S - (Can’t Walk Unless Near The Shops) stencilled in that bay…
Hard to argue with that Stofos, however it is not much fun when you have great difficulty walking, but won’t give into using a wheelchair until it is absolutely essential and frequently need to access a toilet quickly. The nearer you can get to a toilet the less likely you are to end up (very) embarrassed and pads are not the perfect answer. Motorway service stations being the worst for this with the large distances between them and, the toilets being the furthest from the door and more often than not, you end up having to park some distance from the entrance. I have to say I am only too happy to use my new badge when I need to!
