Hi All
I’m updating those interested on my ankle fusion surgery which I was asking for other peoples experience of last month (can’t find the original thead). Someone mentioned they’d like to know how I get on.
With much intrepidation I went ahead and had the ankle fusion surgery (tibiotalcalcaneous arthrodesis) a week ago and now am back at home. Getting about is very difficult with a walking frame. I’m attempting to be non-weight bearing through the operated leg and can only managed a few feeble hops. Pains manageable which is a relief to me not being the bravest individual. I’m a bit depressed as to how hard I’m finding it to do anything and wondering if there’s eventually going to be enough improvement in my walking to make it worth the problems I’m having at the moment.
Three more weeks before I go for an xray to see if the bones have started to fuse together and look at when I can start to partially weight bare which should make getting about a bit easier. I just need tokeep my spirits up until then.
