I have been using Amantadine for fatigue for quite a while now. I use it on days that I know I will be working or on days I need to be alert and able. Now when I use it after more than two days of having not taken it, it works absolute wonders… I’m awake and brain fog is completely eradicated I can actually feel the stimulant effects. Same goes for the second day and the third and perhaps the fourth. On the fifth day the effect of the drug is completely negligible. Now of course I don’t want to up my dose, which is 200mg in the morning to 300mg due to the side effects.
I wanted to know if anyone else has had this experience and if they have found it to be useful as a long term solution to fatigue.
Hi Harry, many years ago, I went on amantadine for fatigue…it didnt help at all. I don’t take anything for fatigue now. But I sleep a lot…10-12 hours. But I don’t work…retired 20 years ago at 47. Sorry I cant be more helpful. Hope someone else comes along with good advice xxx
Hi Harry , I too tried this and it did nothing for me…so like Bouds I don’t take anything, just sleep a lot, but I don’t work, had to finish at 47yrs, now 61, so good luck with finding something that helps you.
I tried Amantadine for a while but it did nothing for me. I didn’t get the effect you did, or any effect at all - good or bad, so I stopped it. There are other drugs, e.g. Modafinil, but I don’t think the docs prescribe them too readily.
