Am I still in limboland?Help!

Hi - I wonder if anyone can help? I’m wondering if I’m still officially in limboland?

I was referred from ENT to Neurology because my brain mri showed “hyperintensities” which the radiologist thought could be signs of MS/demyelinating disease or ischaemia.

When I saw the neurologist she said she didn’t think I had MS ( which I was pleased about obviously!) but migraines. In her opinion she told me, the “hyperintensities” were normal. She requested a load of blood tests, nerve tests for carpal - tunnel ( which I don’t think I’ve got as the pins & needles are affecting my little finger but I’m happy to go for) & booked a follow up appt for 6months - ticking the “watchful waiting” box on my treatment sheet.

Anyone else out there had a similar migraine diagnosis I wonder? I’m a bit baffled how all my symptoms including tinnitus, balance issues, what the neuro described as “neuropathic” pains in my legs could be down to migraines ( which I didn’t realise I had!) Also why didn’t the radiologist suggest migraines?

Any thoughts welcome!

Thank you

Hiya,

I think your headaches are very relevant. Do you get blotchy skin on your arms; legs? Have you had any problems with pregnancy? If so it could be Sticky Blood or Hughes Syndrome; see http://www.hughes-syndrome.org/otherwise symptoms mimic MS.

Get your GP to have a blood test for antiphospholipid antibodies.

Good luck

Thank you for this - much appreciated. I am awaiting a load of blood test results & will check if this is one of them. Initially I was pleased to hear “migraines” not MS but I am now wondering…!

Time will tell I guess!

Many thanks,
