Hi, I can fully relate to your concerns regarding the wait, I can remember mine it was traumatic. I waited around 6-8 weeks, when I phoned up to chase it, I was told it takes time because in the lab they need to do reaction tests with various procedures which require time to develop. I heard of my results just before I went out for my works Christmas meal out. I can remember being in a daze all evening unable to think of anything else. Good luck, hope you hear soon

Hi all, still waiting for the results from my lumbar puncture from the 4th of Nov, so 5 weeks now and I can see some people have had to wait for up to 8 weeks, was hoping to get a proper diagnosis before Christmas.

Who do you recommend I chase for results my GP or the hospital where i had the procedure done, or will it not made any difference to the time I have to wait?

I would contact the hospital. Do you have the email of an MS nurse or the neurolgistā€™s secretary? I was assigned to an MS nurse even before I had any of my tests and they have been absolutely fantastic with getting back to me. I pesterthe nurse with emails all the time and she responds very promptly. If not the secretary will be good too, in my experience they are just as good. Although I know I am very lucky with the neurology department I am with - I feel very looked after! What ever you do, keep chasing! You want answers. Answers are easier to deal with than what ifs and maybes.

Thanks BettieVR, Iā€™ve just gone through all the letters Iā€™ve received and the last letter was from the MS Specialist to my Dr saying;

ā€œI will update the patient regarding the results of the MR scan and lumbar puncture in order to advise specifically on further management.ā€

So Iā€™ll try to get through to her and the MS nurse tomorrow.

Hi i chased up my lumber puncture results on a regular basis with the neurologist secretary/admin office. It didnā€™t help that my lumber puncture was carried out on another health board area. I waited 6 weeks until i finally received my results and unfortunately I received a call from the MS Nurse before I actually had a formal diagnosis.

Hope you donā€™t have too much longer to wait.

Thanks Lesley, every time I go for a test itā€™s been at a different hospital, and when I had the first call from the MS Specialist she didnā€™t have the results from my last scan.

So will see if I can get some answers tomorrow, fingers crossed.
