Advice please on being discharged

Hello

I was previously referred to neurologist and have had a brain mri which showed “multiple non specific cerebral white matter abnormalities of uncertain aetiology”. Clear cervical mri. The neurologist discharged me with no follow up.

I have since had a thoracic mri as in pain which has shown a syringomyelia & am waiting for a neurosurgeon referral.

I am really struggling with my fingers and hands, as in dropping things, difficulty opening things and zips etc. when I told the neurologist this they suggested it was due to CFS ME (previous diagnosis). However it is just getting worse and affects me every day multiple times a day.

Looking for any suggestions or help please. Would neurosurgeon be able to help if it was suspected ms?

Hi Pennyb1

Neurosurgeons don’t usually get involved with MS unless there is a physical issue (ie. bone spurs, compression etc.) affecting the spinal cord/brain.

Its very difficult being in limbo regarding a diagnosis, but hang in there and keep pressing for answers; if it isn’t x then what is it. Hope your neurosurgeon appointment for the syringomyelia goes well.
