Access to Wembley Stadium

Hi All, bit of an everyday question about access to venues.

I want to go to Wembley to watch the Lionesses but am not sure how easy it is to get to and around Wembley Stadium so am hesitating before buying tickets. I can walk about half a mile using a stick and ankle brace before my legs get tired. I think that will be OK for getting from the tube station. However, I don’t know what the ground itself is like. Are there lifts to all stands? Are there hand rails alongside steps?
What experiences have others had? Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks
Robin

I haven’t been to the new stadium, but there appears to be a shuttle bus from Wembly Park and has lifts to all levels. Probably worth contacting disabled liaison to get all the answers you need.
Enjoy the game.

Hi Robin

I’ve been four times as a wheelchair user, when Pompey had our two runs to the FA Cup final. I was really impressed with the facilities. There are lifts and plenty of disabled loos (the stewards all seemed to have Radar keys and were eager to help open them). i don’t know if there were hand rails, but given the accessibility for wheelchairs, presumably it’ll be just as good for those with walking sticks. But it might be worth considering hiring a wheelchair for the day (you may well be able to get a free ticket for oa carer if you do, though I can’t remember what was needed to prove my eligibility). But as whammel suggests, speak to the disability liaison person for more info.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll contact the liaison office and take it from there. I’ve been to Wembley before in a time when these weren’t issues I needed to worry about so didn’t take notice hand rails etc, but it is an impressive venue so I should hope it’s been well thought through.
