A little advice needed

New diagnosis and before diagnosis

Hi there. I have not been diagnosed as of yet so I am a little confused. I had an MRI 2 weeks ago and the neurologist has requested a nerve and muscle test but has not told me why he needs this. Is this what happens to everyone one when they get diagnosed and they request this or do you think they believe it is something else? I called the hospital yesterday but they will not divulge any information on the telephone. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated x

My neuro asked for these two I think it’s fairly normal when they ask for loads of tests it can rule out or in various conditions like neuropathy etc

Hi there, Were the nerve conduction tests requested at the same time as the MRI? J x

Thanks for replying x No I had my MRI done 2 weeks ago and then the neurologist requested the test a week later. I just feel left in the dark a bit

I guess it’s hard to say, given the weeks lapse whether he ordered the test after receiving results or just as a means of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. When I saw my neuro for the first time she sent me for everything, MRI, evoked potentials and a lumbar puncture. Try not to think too much into it, easy to say I guess. Hopefully you may hear something very soon. Take care J x

Hi I’ve had 2 MRI , evoked potential test, lumber puncture,ct scan and physical exams , took me 10 mths to get DX, it’s a slow process, hang in there Good luck Gray x
