Hi all I’m looking for some positivity but also honesty. I’m waiting for a diagnosis having started with symptoms four weeks ago; MS hug followed by pins and needles, numbness, paralysis in my left leg which has improved albeit I’m still not properly mobile. Also unbelievably corked up (driving me mad!) and have weird feelings in the bath- my good leg feels like it’s in cold water. Awful as I loved my baths. I’m also numb ish below the waist. Will all of this improve or is this it?! Waiting for a brain scan and lumbar but I think I know where this is going having ruled out spinal injury on MRI. Thoughts, advice, comments hugely appreciated.
You might be having a relapse and it will get better

Hi, has MS been discussed as a possible or probable reason for your symptoms?
Having had these issues for just weeks seems a very short time for a neuro to say this.
With MS, most people have symptoms, either all the time, or on and off for quite a while longer.
You see so many conditions can mimic MS…things may not be as serious as they could be treated.
But to answer your question …is this it?..is very difficult to answer .MS can be PPMS and go into a decline quickly (as it did for me), or it can be RRMS or SPMS and be treated to slow progression.
Best thing you can do, I believe, is keep a diary of symptoms, let the docs do their job and see how it goes.
Keep hope in your heart as best you can.
I’ll be watching out for your posts.

Will you always feel this low? Even if you do have MS, the answer is no if my personal experience is anything to go by. I expect people said the same to me when I was where you are now, but I wasn’t listening, and I don’t suppose you are either, but ‘no’ is still the answer to your question.
What I do remember is that where you are now is not fun and I really feel for you. There are some times in life when you just have to grind through it and trust that there will be better times ahead and that you are resilient person and you will deal with whatever comes along and make a good life for yourself. That is what I have found in my 20+ years with RRMS. If it turns out that you have what I have, I hope that you will find the same.
Hi Caroline
It’s probably the not-knowing and fear of the unknown which is doing your head in. If your symptoms DO lead to an MS Diagnosis, it doesn’t need to define you though some allow it to. You can own it and work around it, particularly if your condition is caught early and treatable.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. MS has been discussed briefly in my first consultation. I am very hopeful but if it’s not that then its doing a good job of mimicking all the symptoms. I am feeling much better today, more positive. I am desperate to book a holiday but my travel insurance provider just told me they won’t cover me whilst I’m under investigation. The plot thickens! Anyway hopefully I will have some answers soon and I think this will help me to move forwards in whichever direction I need to.
