This appeared on Facebook. It might be a bit out of date but the message is there! Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 600 employees and has the following employee statistics? 29 have been accused of spouse abuse 7 have been arrested for fraud 9 have been accused of writing bad cheque’s 17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses 3 have done time for assault 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges 8 have been arrested for shoplifting 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits 84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year which organization is this? It’s the 635 members of the House of Commons, the same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us inline. What a bunch of crooks we have running our country - it says it all. And just to top all that they probably have the best ‘corporate’ pension scheme in the country!!
Not just out of date but total garbage as well. It was originally a joke email about the US government but it has had the figures altered to show the government of several different countries. It goes quiet for a while but regularly resurfaces as a email that people feel the need to send to everybody they know.
And the same could be said about most workplaces…
This country is ‘run’ by the Civil Service and Home Office. The elected Government are allowed to think they are running the show, but in the great scheme of things they only get to change a tiny proportion of things.
This was a Partly Political Broadcast by the ‘Up tish creek in a barbed wire canoe party’
Totally agree, and it’s been that way for some long time.
Tell the Minister that “this policy” will save millions (or billions), show him/her a pretty graph that they cannot understand, get a signature, and away the Civil Serpents go to do whatever they want to do.
Quite often they do not understand the graphs either - they are just going on what their juniors tell them will work. Just look at the story on MOD overspend on the BBC News website today. Why should they care, it’s not “their” money!
