What's the best treatment infusions or self injections?

What’s better self injections or hospital infusions? Please help i don’t know what to do.

Hi, I think it all depends on a) which DMT you have been offered and b) which fits in best with your lifestyle ie. work, school age kids etc.

If you contact your MS Nurse they should be able to go over the pros and cons of each.

Hi there . I’m thinking that the answer to your questions depends on what you mean by ‘better’. There will be no difference in the effectiveness of th two. Some people have a fear of needles and really don’t like self injecting. I’ve been self injecting Avonex for around 19 years. I can’t say that it’s my highlight of the week but it’s no problem - for Avonex there is a self injecting pen which hides the needle.

As @TheresaB says it probably comes down to which option best suits your lifestyle, which is most convenient, but give your MS Nurse a call. All the best for whichever option you choose.

I’d agree with what people have said above. Personally, I like self-injections. I live a long way from the hospital and would not want to have to give up a day of my life to go there for infusions…monthly injections take me about 20 seconds and I can get on with things.

However, some people actually like going into hospital, perhaps because it gives them a chance to meet and chat to people.

Assuming both the drugs you’ve been offered are anti-CD20s (eg Ocrevus, Kesimpta) they are very similar in terms of efficacy.

Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate everything you have told me. God Bless you all.:face_blowing_a_kiss:
