whats that smell

Hello everyone. Im hear as a last resort because im at a loss as to what’s going on with me. Im 51 and female with a lower back problem and lots of weird afflictions. I was diagnosed with a right foot Babibski sign about 6 years ago at Royal Free and Stanmore. My reflexes are very brisk. I also have foot drop on the same side. M y right thigh is numb. 5 years ago I developed Trigeminal Neuralgia on the right side of my face. It returned 4 years later then 8 months later. The most hellish pain imaginable. I have blue feet and thermal imaging shows a Raynuds type issue. My right lower leg has lost muscle tone and sometimes I get a sudden twitch and my leg will kick out.i also get awful cramps in the right leg. Not normal cramps but really disabling. It I point my foot or bend it it twists and is painful. Just putting a shoe on starts it off. If i stretch it happens but never the left side. For a few years I’ve had painful imaginary burns or pricking. Usually my legs. I feel like I’ve been pricked or bitten. The pain is real for a moment, I can touch the exact place then it’s gone. Icy cold sensation is fairly new. Momentarily I set a very cold spot anywhere. My knee leg or foot even my bum. I used to get a warm feeling in my feet like I’d stepped onto spilt tea wearing socks. I also have restless legs…and arms? I also struggle with my bladder being too weak. More recently I’ve been diagnosed with Phantomosia. I keep smelling an awful smell thats not there. I still have ny normal sense of smell but now this extra one. More worryingly I realised that ive been having this longer than I thought. Some nice smells to but mostly one disgusting smell. My hearing is a bit confusing too. I also have a vibrating feeling along the instep and heel of my right foot. 3 weeks ago both my hands had really powerful pins and needles for less than 30 then return to nornal. When I wake up in the morning my legs are very annoying. I can’t walk properly and stretching helps to loosen them up. Im very active and not overweight at all. Im now asking questions because the snell issue is doing my head in. I feel stupid because its imaginary. Im constantly looking for a smell. I’ve isolated myself now because I must be a pain to others. I’ve tried nasal sprays but nothing works. Its getting me down because no one else has such odd problems. My gp seems uninterested so im at a loss. I never considered Ms until the phantosia started. Now ive looked further and am beginning to think it needs further investigation as I have trigeminal etc. I don’t want MS and am not convinced I have it but to see a dr for so many small things is daunting and time wasting. Id like to hear what others think. Thank you

hi sara

have you been referred to a neurologist?

it sounds neurological to me.

you can self refer to the bladder and bowel clinic.

do try them because they give excellent help.

Hi Sara,

If your GP won’t listen to you - change your doctor, preferably a female.

Instead of seeing her for lots of different symptoms, make a list, like you’ve done here, and tell the GP all your symptoms in one go. They won’t be so easy to ignore that way.
