What type of flooring is best for non-wheelchair user who drops things

My wife has been living with MS for nearly 30 years and recently has been dropping things in the kitchen more than usual. She has also fallen over herself a few times and I want to try and make the kitchen and hallway as safe as possible for her. We currently have a laminate floor that was laid about 20 years ago! Its slippery and doesn’t afford much protection for crockery/glass or my wife if they fall to the floor.

Can anybody recommend what type of flooring is best for a non-wheelchair MSer who wants some choice in design (stone or wood lookalike) but primarily wants a non-slip safety floor?

Thanks

Vinyl Flooring

Morning, this might not be any good as I am not in a wheelchair but I do fall over, drop things, knock things over about a hundred times a day (funny I never spill my hot chocolate), break lots of things. I have Rhino flooring which is non-slip, has a slight texture so I can feel it through my feet. When I picked it there were different raised textures to help with lots of things. I have since had it through the bathroom, hall, all kitchen area and it is brill. Pam

What scudger said.

Karndean flooring. It is not cheap.

I have MS and was going down the carpet replacement route last year, due to dropping, and incontinence. I did plenty of research, and Karndean is sturdy and easy to clean maintain.

I have had it just over 12 months now and had a few accidents in that time, but looks like new. I miss my carpet but very happy with the vinyl.

If you live Manchester I would give you the contact details of the people who fitted mine. They were excellent.

Good luck.
