What now

I am new to this after being diagnosed in August. I have my first neurology appointment next week and I am looking into different treatments if accessible. I suffer from really stiff legs, feet and hands which makes it difficult to walk and do simple things like opening a packet. Ampyra sounds like it could help but I was just wondering if anyone has used this and/or anything else i can consider?

i honestly think you have to wait for your appointment and sure it will be discussed then. good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Hi
Sorry about the diagnosis but welcome to the forum.

Your neurologist will discuss various meds. I take Baclofen and tizanidine for stiffness.
Also Fampyra for walking - private prescription as in England - on NHS in Scotland and Wales.

Top tip - keep a book on your MS - symptoms, appointments and outcomes. When you start medication etc. Will be invaluable in the future to see how your MS develops.

Write down questions you want to ask - you might forget otherwise.

Will you get an MS nurse?

Take care and let us know how you get on.
