Wet bowel movements

Briefly because I can’t think of any other way to put it.
Are wet farts due to MS bowel issues, or could it be something else?

Yes I think so, same as the bladder leakage, but I’ve only experienced the wet flatulence one or twice before.

I was offered the larger pads, but as it was so infrequent, I just opted for the smaller urine dribble ones; good idea if you can get referred to the Community Continence Service, if you have one locally.

Thanks. It’s been four or five times over the last couple of days so I contacted 111. The nurse thinks it’s gastroenteritis. I’m hoping so, because that will pass.

Morning Flowerpot, I’m experiencing both at the minute, one minute loose, the next I can’t go, plus abdominal discomfort, I can also feel lumpy area’s on the upper left side of my abdomen, which at times are very uncomfortable. I had a face to face last week with my GP, she felt my abdomen and did confirm she could also feel lumps, I’ve had to do 3 stool samples and next Wednesday I go for a full blood count doing and she wants me to fast for this. Now I don’t think thing it’s anything sinister as I’m not loosing weight, or showing any blood, but I do think somethings going on and I pray it’s not down to MS as that will just be something else, I already have bladder issues and need botox injecting every 5mths. She’s advised me to up my movicol to help push stuff through, which I have, but still having problems. I forgot to mention this get’s me up in the night too and has done for months. So I wish you luck and hope for you it’s something that can be sorted and for me.

First of all good luck with your tests and fingers crossed for you.
Like you I have Botox injections in my bladder around every 7 or 8 months and CISC which has transformed my life. I’m really hoping nothing going on in the bowels, whether it’s MS related or not, although sometimes I struggle to ‘go’ and sometimes I have to wipe and wipe and wipe to get clean. But no blood, pain, lumps or anything else of concern, which makes me think it’s nothing sinister.
I’ve been taking Imodium although the nurse said not to because if it’s a virus it’ll take longer to leave the body.
That’s all very well but I use a wheelchair, and although I can weight bear to transfer I just can’t get to the toilet quickly enough…………
So far today nothing, but I had Imodium before bed and took a couple of codeine around 05.30 which can also firm up stools.
I didn’t eat much yesterday, and I’ve not eaten anything today yet.
I’ll probably be at the other end of the extremes and find myself constipated for a few days!

Hi Flowerpot, does CISC have to do with self catheter, because if so, I myself self catheter nd yes it’s transformed my live, I did have a supra pubic one fitted, which was better, but it kept bypassing, so I had it taken out, sad really as that stopped the night’s getting up.

Yes, Clean Intermittent Self Catheterisation.
I’m better today :slightly_smiling_face: although I fell this morning when transferring :frowning: no harm done fortunately. Maybe the result of feeling weak from virus? xx

Oh hell Flowerpot, take care,
