As brilliant as all our Paralympians are, whatever their individual circumstances, I am sure that we all have an extra special cheer for our “own” winner!
Kadeena Cox, diagnosed with MS 2 years ago, has become the first competitor to get medals in 2 completely different sports for 28 years. A bronze medal in the 100m sprint and now a GOLD medal and a WORLD RECORD in the cycling time trial!!!
Some of us couldn’t even RIDE a let alone run 100m at any speed - before MS ; but, as Steve Snore rightly says on another part of this forum, we all have our own challenges to confront and can beat our personal bests every day.
I love the Paralympics. I love the fact that people with all kinds of disability work so hard to achieve greatness.
I worry that those of us who struggle to even type without autocorrect (and some of the autocorrects are so ludicrous I am often tempted to leave them) are measured against the levels of these super humans.
But mostly I’m just proud as hell that the disabled achieve so much. And yes, it does make you feel extra proud of an MSer getting Gold.

(and btw, pb autocorrects to pub on my iPad which is more my speed)
I find it curious that the ignorant few who try to compare Paralympians with disabled people in general, don’t bother judging themselves against Mo Farah. Surely all they need to do is work harder?
She is amazing and a wonderful girl. We met last year competing in the CP World Games. Luckily we are different classes in athletics as I had no chance of coming any where near her in a race!!
She deserves every success as she has worked so hard and faced lots of difficulties on the way xx
