washing more pajamas

hi all

i’ve really got the hang of ISC but still keep having accidents. more so and worse than ever.

i’ve had to change my pj’s 3 times tonight.

i’m feeling scared that this problem is here to stay.

if i have an accident 30 mins after ISC what does this mean?

i’ve even given up coffee to no avail.

got another appointment with the bladder nurse on the 28th and was hoping to be offered some medication once i’d mastered the art of ISC. meanwhile i’d better get the washing machine on again!

its the bloody pits this

Dear Carole,I wasn’t trying to be nasty in my last reply to your Pussy Post and hadn’t seen this. I have no practical suggestion as your Girly problem is out of my tiny field of expertise. In general though I’ve found that reducing fluid intake as the day drags on helps,as does eating Digestives or anything dry which will help ‘sop up’ any excess fluid.

Fruit is lovely but is 90% water and I don’t bother with it after 18:00

Wb - i didnt take it as nasty, just funny

good job i eventually got my washing machine fixed!

i suppose i should just hang on with legs crossed until 28th

Hi Carole It sounds like the way to go next is medication, if you aren’t on anything. I think oxybutnin is often used for that sort of problem. If I’m wrong someone else will be along soon to put me right no doubt. Sorry that the ISC alone hasn’t sorted your problems. I am on solifenacin to help my bladder - they may even put you on this, I’m not sure but it worked brilliantly for me for 5 years. In the last year it has not been so effective but still does a decent job! Hope they sort you out! Merry Christmas, Teresa xx

thanks teresa

i’ll be alright (cue gloria gaynor - i will survive)

happy christmas

Hi, I stick to wearing nighties. PJs would be impossible for me, as I hoist onto my commode from bed.

I dunno how I do it, but I often wet the front of my nightie, when I reckon I have pulled it up in time. Praps not, eh? Sometimes get through 3 a night! I use square bed pads, to save my sheet. But in a morning, it is ravaged looking like a rat has chewed at it.

i get pads on NHS, but have to pay for bedpads, at £28 every 3 months.

Anyone get these for free?

luv Pollx

hi poll

whew! £28 per month! if only this government could spend a day in your shoes.

nope i dont get anything like that from the nhs but perhaps someone else will reply who knows about it.

lots of love poll

Carole, I think you have got to ask and maybe even more than once, because even if you qualify for free pads i dont think they are predisposed to just offer them because of the cost. However, it sounds like you are managing ok during the day time thanks to ISC, whereas I believe pads are only likely to be supplied for a more extensive problem. Evenso, pads do not seem to be able to provide total containment at night except for small leaks, especially if you sleep on your side as I do, so you may still have extra laundering.

i always seem to hum an appropriate old tune at times like this

“oh mr woo what can i do? i’ve got those chinese laundry blues”

yes i am old enough to remember george formby!
